Photography Definitions

Aperture- A device that controls the amount of light through an opening. It is the measurement that defines the size of the opening in the lens that can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the film or sensor

Depth of Field- It is the distance of the nearest and furthest objects that give an image depth, judged to be in focus of the camera

Exposure- It is the amount of light allowed to enter on each area of a photographic film or sensor when the photograph is taken. It is measured in lux seconds

Framing- It is a technique used in photography to draw the viewer to a certain aspect of a picture, to focus their attention on

Composition- The arrangement of the subject of the photo
